Israel, 18 science ministries to enhance cooperation in COVID-19 fight

Science Minister Izhar Shay and 18 of his counterparts worldwide signed a declaration on Tuesday to enhance global cooperation in face of the coronavirus pandemic.“This is our opportunity to get together and promote innovation,” he said at a special virtual summit titled “Global Efforts in Fighting the Coronavirus.” “We are about to share the unique takeaways here so that our governments could benefit as well.”Shay launched an international virtual site to share data about COVID-19 and help scientists from around the world work in union. “We will begin with scientists from your own countries and, hopefully, be able to include others from around the world.”He said that in Israel, which has six months experience dealing with COVID-19, his ministry funded 100 projects meant to offer medical insights into the virus.“We have approached the Israeli ecosystem of start-ups, and many of them offered innovations to the government and the public,” he

5G Technology – India, Israel, and the US collaborating

5G technology is of paramount importance for developed and developing countries. However, the western world is looking for a substitute for reliable, transparent, open, and secure technology. Many countries have either blocked or ignored Huawei for security reasons.

As per the Economic Times, India, Israel, and the US are collaborating on 5G technology for a better solution. The report says that this is a result of people-to-people collaboration in the US and Israel. The initiatives started back in 2017.

However, the report suggests that this is just a tip of the iceberg and the first step towards the initiative as per Bonnie Glick, US Agency for International Development (USAID) Deputy Administrator.

He insisted that the collaboration in science and research would continue to bring the next generation of technologies.

Congregation Beth Israel Welcomes New Education Director

Congregation Beth Israel in Scotch Plains has welcomed Aviva Tilles as its new Director of Congregational Learning. Aviva will be responsible for directing Congregation Beth Israel’s religious school, as well as overseeing its high school program, youth groups, and adult education, providing a comprehensive approach to the synagogue’s commitment to life-long learning. Congregation Beth Israel’s religious school will be offering in-person instruction as well as a remote learning track for the upcoming 2020 – 2021 school year, beginning Sunday, October 18.
