5G technology is of paramount importance for developed and developing countries. However, the western world is looking for a substitute for reliable, transparent, open, and secure technology. Many countries have either blocked or ignored Huawei for security reasons.
As per the Economic Times, India, Israel, and the US are collaborating on 5G technology for a better solution. The report says that this is a result of people-to-people collaboration in the US and Israel. The initiatives started back in 2017.
However, the report suggests that this is just a tip of the iceberg and the first step towards the initiative as per Bonnie Glick, US Agency for International Development (USAID) Deputy Administrator.
He insisted that the collaboration in science and research would continue to bring the next generation of technologies.
Glick added,
“We are thrilled to work with these partners to solve the world’s development challenges. One area we’ve been cooperating on is digital leadership and innovation, particularly in next-generation 5G technology,” at the virtual – India-US-Israel summit.
She further continued that the discussion around the 5G Technology started back in July and the contribution from India and Israel has made it even richer.
She said that the discussions about the defense and technologies are always closed doors because of the sensitivity of the topics. She however emphasized the importance of transparent, reliable, open, and secure 5G Technology. Glick added,
“When we’re talking about development cooperation, we’re talking about transparent and open activities that can make all three countries extremely proud about the way that they impact the lives of people all over the world.”
