The Science and Technology Entry Program (STEP) at Binghamton University provides
academic support, retention services, and post-secondary guidance to New York State
historically underrepresented and financially disadvantaged middle and high school
students. Through outreach, education, and access to knowledge and resources, STEP
will help alleviate the effects of structural barriers to STEM education and STEM
careers.

This program provides STEM-related after school and Saturday programming to supplement
students’ curriculum, as well as to support and increase their readiness and competitiveness
when pursuing a post-secondary education in STEM fields or licensed professions.
