TWC provides more skill development funding

The Texas Workforce Commission has approved an additional $5 million to be used for training in high-demand occupations like healthcare, manufacturing and information technology.

In a news release from TWC, Chairman Bryan Daniel noted that the funding is meant to help better prepare those sectors of the workforce for a more successful and rewarding career path.

The TWC approved $10 million in April to support skill development.

“Due to the success of SDF (skill development fund) grants and the ongoing need for training for employers, TWC has approved these additional funds in support of this special initiative,” the news release reads.
