19,854 in Nagaland trained under skill development scheme | MorungExpress

Dimapur, September 18 (MExN): Under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) 2.0, a total of 19,854 candidates have been trained/oriented in Nagaland in the last three years.

In 2019-20, 16,599 candidates were trained in the state, showing a significant rise as compared to 1,510 in 2018-19 and 1,745 in 2017-18.

PMKVY 2.0 is a flagship scheme of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) launched across the country with the objective to impart short duration skill development training.

Under PMKVY2.0, in the last three years, 88.91 lakh candidates have been trained /oriented across the country as on March 17, 2020.

Moreover, during 2017-2019, the total number of trainees enrolled for long duration vocational courses through Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in Nagaland was 544 as against the national total of 40, 97,317.

111 candidates were enrolled in 2017 while 168 and 265 were enrolled in 2018 and 2019 respectively

ACID members attend Micro Enterprise Development Prog on detergent making | MorungExpress

Dimapur, September 9 (MExN):  The Assisi Centre for Integrated Development (ACID) commenced its MEDP programme on detergent making for 30 members in its office on September 8.

The programme was initiated through the support of National Bank for Agricultural and Rural Development (NABARD), Dimapur.

Sr Pramila Lobo UFS, Director ACID organisation in her welcome address expressed gratitude to NABARD for their constant support to the organisation to uplift the women through different skill development training programmes. 

NABARD has been supporting the organisation for conducting different need based programmes through Micro Enterprise Development Programme (MEDP) which attempts to bridge the skill deficit or facilitates optimization of production activities already pursued by SHG members.

S C Sahoo DGM NABARD Regional Office, Dimapur in his inaugural session expressed that the skills that we learn is not a waste.
