NOTE INTO A POSITIVE CHANGE. AND CONTINUING OUR COMMITMENT 2020 COVERAGE THIS MORNING, WE ASKED THE DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATES FOR GOVERNOR THEIR THOUGHTS ON EDUCATION EQUALITY. >> WE NEED TO MAKE SURE THAT REGARDLESS OF WHERE YOU GROW UP, WHAT YOU LOOK LIKE, WHAT FAMILY YOU COME FROM, THAT YOU ARE ENTITLED TO EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITY REGARDLESS OF WHERE YOU LIVE. REGARDLESS OF YOUR ZIP COD AND PART OF THAT IS DOING AND BUILDING OFF OF THE BUDGET WE PASSED. WE SECURED $140 MILLION IN NEW PUBLIC SCHOOL EDUCATION FUNDIN , STATE FUNDING FOR OUR SCHOOLS IN THE LAST BUDGET. THE BIGGEST INCREASE IN 20 YEARS. THE BIGGEST SCHOOL BUDGET STATE SUPPORT IN HISTORY. FINALLY DOING FULL DAY KINDERGARTEN. SOMETHING I RAN ON IN 2014 FOR THE FIRST TIME WE UNLOCKED KINDERGARTENERS WH ARE TIED TO KINO UNDER GOVERNOR SUNUNU’S POLICIES ON EDUCATION. KEVIN TOBIN, DOUG HALL, AND I DID FORUMS AROUND THE STATE EXPLAINING HOW EDUCATION FUNDING WORKS. WE CALLED IT ED FUNDING 101. PEOPLE WOULD COME FROM ALL OVER. WE DID THEM NASHUA TO BERLIN, ROCHESTER TO KEENE. OVER 3000 PEOPLE ATTENDED. PEOPLE LEFT THOSE FORUMS ASKIN REALLY HARD QUESTIONS ABOUT WHY IS CONCORD NOT ADDRESSING THIS? SO WE NEED TO START THERE WITH A GENERAL BASIC UNDERSTANDING THAT THE PROPERTY TAX IS THE MOST UNFAIR AND THE MOST BROAD BASED TAX IN THE STATE. AND NEW HAMPSHIRE IS THE WORST IN THE NATION FOR RELYING THAT. IF WE CAN ACCOMPLISH THOSE TWO TASKS, THEN THE GOVERNOR’S JOB IS TO PUSH FOR THE BEST SOLUTION THAT CAN GET THROUGH THE LEGISLATURE, AND THAT’S HOW I
